About me: Almost 6 years of experience in the tech field, with 2 of those being in AI engineering and 4 on software engineering. Ny current focus is on ML and Data Science but looking for all good opportunities.
As a software engineer, I have released a game developed in Python in Steam along an Indonesian team named Herculion and developed software solutions to speed up their development processes. I have also released three websites for Odds Scanner, a Maltese startup focused on sports betting websites, and developed a desktop app for particle physics during my Bachelor's degree using C++ and parallel processing libraries such as OpenMP.
As a ML Engineer, I have worked for SCOR, one of the world's largest reinsurers, producing a document classification model and a backend solution to make use of said model for them. I am also currently working as a Computer Vision Engineer at one of Japan's biggest research institutes, AIST, for almost a year now, where I developed a deep learning model for depth estimation on panoramic images with SOTA performance and contributed to the development of a novel spherical SLAM solution. I am currently working on pose estimation in a project in partnership with Carnegie Mellon University.
My current job unfortunately gives me no opportunity for growth and is too research-focused for my tastes, and therefore I am looking for a new opportunity in a company where I can grow as a professional, have a bigger engineering focus and advance to a more senior position in the future. My strong point is being a generalist that can easily adapt to new requirements at the job and do anything given enough time and resources, while also having specialist knowledge in ML and software engineering thanks to my education and research experience.
